Houndstooth. . . the woven wool of the Scottish Lowlands. Its metamorphosis is quite impressive, and this spring has brought an uncanny fixation on the traditional textile. Yes, you can always find this in Ethan Allen’s fabric library (though you will have to contact an upholstery professional to clean it).
More or less though, you will find houndstooth this season as a statement piece. In the Fall Ready-to-Wear runway shows, designers took a stab at it. The results?
You be the judge.
The Fall RTW Collection from Salvatore Ferragamo definitely made a statement in Milan. Some of the more subtle houndstooth uses came from Hervé Léger by Max Azria and Issey Miyake on the runways of NYC and Paris. Check it out…
Max and Lubov Azria kept it simple (left and center), but with a hint of the pattern. Dai Fujiwara, meanwhile played with the grey tones to make sure that the Miyake design (right) would stay true to the theme. The point?
Houndstooth is in, so make a statement.
If you dare, Bergdorf Goodman has (more like had since they sold out last week) this Italian-made Alexander Mcqueen sweater coat. Luckily, there are practical statements for everyone.
Elle Decor picked up on the trend and offered its readers numerous ways to incorporate houndstooth. From dinnerware by Marc Blackwell, to luggage by Heys (Neiman Marcus). Along with the camcorder by DXG, it is practicality at its finest. And because LoveSac always seems to know the way, statements of comfort can also be yours.

Over the Atlantic, Paris Fashion Week (for spring/summer 2011, as featured in Vogue Paris) was taking place, and my gut tells me that LoveSac paid attention. Our Spring Vintage-Inspired Line marries tweed, tufted throw pillows, and a color palette to boot.

In the same category as Alexander McQueen’s dark narratives and Nicolas Ghesquière’s (Balenciaga) plasticized textures, Karl Lagerfeld took a different approach. In what seemed like an ode-of-sorts, a Spring 2011 RTW Collection had Last Year At Marienbad (1961) nostalgia (and in a good way). Coco Chanel had designed Delphine Seyrig’s clothes for the film, and everything from tweed to pastels brought people in the front row back to L’année dernière à Marienbad.

(Did you know that Tim is distantly related to our 7th President Andrew Jackson?)
Tim also has a heart for the community.
He has constantly been involved in supporting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Tim’s favorite band? Coldplay.
Why? Chris Martin’s songwriting and passion at every live show (off the charts).
(Tim memorized all of the words to Will Smith’s ‘Big Willie Style’
album when he was in elementary school.)
Word on the street is that his album will be dropping around September time. (speculation and HOPE)

3/4 cup carpet & rug
10 teaspoons elbow grease
Mix ingredients with 25 bases and 32 sides.
Place items in a space resembling the following…
Bake at 375 for 4 days
Cool for 12 hours

So what is LoveSac?
It’s only furniture, right?…
To really understand what this little mess we call “LoveSac” really is let’s take out our history books and take a look back to where we used to be:
Born on a beautiful..whatever day.. in November 2001, LoveSac opened its baby colorful eyes to the world – exposing its bounty of comfort and its secret of DuraFoam™.
Yeaa-h-h, those were the days. Where the Corduroy flowed like champagne and Denim Flag covers were always on Sale, sometimes even BOGO. The Sacs were flying off the shelf faster than snowcones in Phoenix -The Sac’ business was booming.
The Sac’ kept growing, faster than anyone would have thought and faster than we could handle at times. To keep things afloat and interesting we decided to add to our look and brand – which we soon got addicted to as well, adding countless comfy accessories, materials, and designs. The evolution found wheels and it just never stopped..
So much that we solved world problems along the way and started selling what would be known today as 6 Series Sactionals™ – Contemporary, Modern and completely Modular Furniture..
Yep. We were growing up from our Cadillac of Beanbag days into something Unique and truly Re-markable, as more and more people started to discover our patented 6 Series Sactionals™. We became furniture for real life. And in real life, you’ve got to let all the mall rats living underneath your PillowSac™ featuring accessory Rocker Frame, go. This little guy was the last of them. Years later this little guy would become a proud owner of our famous Movie Lounger in Mushroom (4 Bases, 4 Sides). This can be described as nothing short of a total life upgrade, courtesy of LoveSac.
